The Lioness Project uses yoga, meditation, mindfulness, physical activities, mindful crafts, discussions and group activities to open up discussions and learn more about how we can each become more resilient in our own lives. Girls will learn tools that they can directly apply to overcome fear, anxiety and other challenges they face every day.
Youth yoga has been shown to help reduce anxiety, regulate emotions, improve physical health, develop body awareness, develop positive body image and bring kids together in a non-competitive group setting. The Lioness Project uses yoga as a foundation to open up discussions and help kids learn more about themselves from the inside out.
MINDFULNESS AND MEDITATION
Meditation in children and teens has been proven to help reduce anxiety, stress and depression, improve psychological well-being, improve school performance, and develop creativity and problem solving abilities.
Half-Day Camp Overview
1:00-1:15pm – Introduction
1:15-2:00pm – Yoga class
2:00-2:30pm – Introduction to our resilience topic
2:30-3:15pm – Hands-on activity and craft
3:15-3:30pm – Mindful group meditation
3:30-4:00pm – Group reflection and discussion, Personal journal reflection
